Overview
WRID-LD is a low-power TV station licensed by the FCC to Richmond, Virginia, carrying NBC in the Richmond-Petersburg, VA market.
On screen it is channel 12, though WRID-LD actually transmits on RF channel 36. Digital TVs map the two automatically after a channel scan. Its signal covers a smaller area than a full-power station's, so an antenna closer to the transmitter helps.
Gray Television Licensee, LLC holds the station's FCC license. WRID-LD has been on the air since 1992. It has used the WRID-LD call letters since July 2004.
