Overview
Licensed to Chico, California, KXVU-LD is a low-power television station carrying Antenna TV for viewers in the Chico-Redding, CA market.
On screen it is channel 17, though KXVU-LD actually transmits on RF channel 3. Digital TVs map the two automatically after a channel scan. Its signal covers a smaller area than a full-power station's, so an antenna closer to the transmitter helps.
Sinclair-california Licensee, LLC holds the station's FCC license. KXVU-LD is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. The station dates back to 2006. It has used the KXVU-LD call letters since August 2005.
