Review Guidelines

A good review helps the next person decide where to get local news. Write about your own experience as a viewer or reader.

What helps

• How well the outlet covers your community: local stories, schools, local government, sports.
• Accuracy and fairness, with specific examples where you can.
• Weather and emergency coverage when it mattered.
• Corrections: did the outlet fix mistakes openly?

What we remove

• Personal attacks on named journalists or anyone else.
• Reviews of national politics rather than the outlet’s own coverage.
• Hate speech, threats, spam, links and advertising.
• Reviews by people who work for the outlet or a competitor.

Every review is read before it appears. We don’t remove reviews for being critical, and outlets cannot pay to have reviews removed.
